Small Group

I don't meet a lot of parents who both go to a church small group. It's not easy to do a mid-week evening once you have kids. But surely there's a way.

Here's what I came up with:

  1. Gather a group of 6-8 people.
  2. Get the men to meet up every other week to share their lives, read the bible and pray.
  3. Get the women to do the same on the alternate weeks.
  4. Get your calendars out and find time twice a month to get everyone together, including any kids.

It's working pretty well. Definitely better for parents. We're currently a closed community, which has drawbacks, namely growth, multiplication and mission. It's not easy to shift culture once it's set, so I think I'll save making any major changes for a new group in the future.
